Forget the 9-Euro-Ticket, I wish Germany adopted tap on/off with contactless for public transit, but I don’t have my hopes up for any digitalization over here

@Gargron BaWü was running a pilot and is planning for a rollout across the whole state: If I remember correctly from visiting Berlin long ago, you don't tap on but you do stick your ticket into a drucker on first use. No idea what kinds of tickets locals use tho. @Gargron NFC-F rocks. I would love for you to experience that, but the biggest drawback is, you need to come to Japan. Still, I can assure you that it's worth coming. Some guy I don't know well also came for a train ride yesterday. @Gargron To be fair, the 9-Euro-Ticket: 1 - Is contactless @Gargron why would you want to give your privacy away for free when the 9 Euro ticket is much cheaper to manage (it’s all tax money anyway) and anonymous? @markoer The 9-Euro-Ticket is not going to be a thing. I give up my privacy just the same way by buying tickets through the app, just in a far less convenient way. Tap on/off does not require closing gates. |
