Gregory's Server@hatkidchan @neXtTech The phone number requirement is honestly irreverent when considering things, it's very much critical to the security signal brings to the table. Telegram also has this requirement so existing users probably will not care.

@itzzenxx I don't like the idea of being attached to phone number, considering the fact that nothing stops your provider from doing exactly what Telegram did with usernames: just freeing them and reusing for different people. My friend had an account in VK and haven't used her phone in a while, so someone just got their number and registered an account, having full access to all messages in the process. Great!
