@gedvondur I sprayed it with clean water. Judging by the fact blood is not dripping from under the bandaid, I believe it's no longer bleeding. I didn't get a good look at the flesh part but I sliced through the fingernail on the side, small chunk of the fingernail not completely separated, but barely holding on.

@Gargron When you carefully change the bandage in a few hours, clip off the little piece left. Use a little antibiotic ointment and keep it clean and dry. Also, wash the nail clippers thoroughly before use, those things are normally filthy.

I only asked how deep, because if its deep you should go to the ER and get stitches.

@Gargron @gedvondur Not a doctor, but if it's a slice that doesn't hold itself open, isn't deep, isn't bleeding under the bandage, and you've cleaned the wound prior to dressing it (ideally with alcohol to kill bacteria from the potato/knife/water), then you're probably okay. Otherwise, best to go to a hospital if you aren't sure.
