 We appreciate all the enthusiasm for Pixelfed, but we ask our community to please let photographers enjoy Mastodon and other platforms too! We aren't the only home for photos, we think we are pretty good, but the magic of the fediverse is that you can follow anyone, anywhere. We shouldn't push people to Pixelfed by replying to their Mastodon posts, we're big enough that many people can find us naturally.  @pixelfed plus, isn't this like, the entire point of the protocol, to allow users to post on any instance and have their content show up on any compatible application connected to the fediverse network? People should be able to post their stuff wherever and if it contains images, PixelFed should be (and for the most part, is) able to pickup and display that post with those images to their users. I don't understand trying to coerce others into a specific instance/app on the network @Undead_Zeratul Yeah, I don't think it comes from a malicious place, rather there is a lot of excitement for Pixelfed and there are a lot of new users to the fediverse that don't even know what the fediverse is. @pixelfed of course! It's just one of the big reasons I've been coming to love this ecosystem, and I was more trying to sing praises than criticize unnecessarily @pixelfed  @pixelfed thank you for providing an alternative to artists to the commercial networks running on misleading algorithms 🙏. But for newbies like me who are currently making the effort to try durable alternatives and are testing @Mastodon, @pixelfed and the #fediverse, it is difficult to understand what you are talking about and what we should start with.
