@dirk @BrodieOnLinux ? Marvel Rivals seems to be doing fine. Consistently passing 400k on Steam is hardly beggar numbers. Apex is only at 100k, though all-time peaked over 600k https://steamdb.info/app/2767030/charts/ https://steamdb.info/app/1172470/charts/ @BrodieOnLinux overwatch did the same a while ago. the game still works fine under proton, and afaik, nobody complains about cheaters too much, despite its competitive mode
so yeah, so game devs just know what they're doing in terms of anticheat, others don't @BrodieOnLinux to guarantee legit gameplay, ideally the system would need to be in full control of the game (or their trusted third party) and the gamer would just walk up to the computer and use the controls @BrodieOnLinux @maze cloud gaming is still effectively software on the user side, tho. Thus preventing cheating is impossible. @fogti @BrodieOnLinux @maze they could add DRM and telemetry to gaming controllers to make sure a human is always the one controlling the inputs. @maze @BrodieOnLinux thankfully there are no keyboard and mouse emulators, that are undetectable by the host PC... |
@BrodieOnLinux Apex Legends: “We have so many players players! We don’t care about you few Linux users.”
Marvel Rivals: “At least some of you, please play our game! We love you and will do anything for you!”
