Been willing to install elementary OS for years. I was waiting for the moment I got a Linux-enabled device. Got one today. Tried to install on the first occasion, and... it didn't work! Also, in the Live USB I found out there was no 125% scaling. Too bad!

Went with Linux Mint Cinnamon, for the third time in my life. Boring! But it has 125% scaling and actually got installed on the device. Not in the mood for distrohopping now.

Software Manager just hanged the entire computer. I'm kinda not used to that anymore...

OK I installed Fedora Workstation because I didn't want to spend time configuring graphics on Linux Mint. All this popular hate of GNOME was wrong, it actually looks nice, quite unlike a lot of DE:s.

@bouncepaw there are a lot of valid complaints or reasons not to use gnome, but I do like the recent versions quite a bit.
It seems to hit a sweet spot of simple to use without needing to tweak a ton of stuff. I have a lot of feature requests and nitpicks, but for everyday use, it annoys me less than most others! And it doesn't usually make me want to destroy my computer.

@bouncepaw
Distrohop to Guix, and you'll be tired for the rest of your life 👍
