@kauevestena Nice share, good Q! Perhaps because it "feels" more rich? - visually making peaks and troughs more contrasted than a simple 2-tone gradient. Also I couldn't help myself but notice the rainbow colormap, that's in the perception area a misleading one. But I'm not here to criticize, but to ask if you have ideas on why it's still so popular
