Which is why any identity politics cause célèbre can be supported by working towards economic justice. People living in a near-permanent state of despair, struggling to cover their basic costs, are ripe for recruitment by hatemongers and fascists.
Also why crypto-fascists push economic austerity policies, while cosplaying as "libertarians".
