@Pineywoozle @michaelcoyote @JesseSkinner And really, you can follow blue sky users on here anyway, and bridge your account over there anyway, so I am choosing to bridge my account, and follow accounts that have bridged, so when they enshittify I won’t be starting over from scratch

@WeirdWriter @Pineywoozle @michaelcoyote yeah same here. It really is a shame that Bluesky wasn't built on the Fediverse. Why can't we all just get along [on a unified, decentralised and open standards-based platform]??

@JesseSkinner @Pineywoozle @michaelcoyote I don’t know why they decided to make their own protocol, but if anybody asks me, I’ll just tell them. The Fediverse is the last, and I really do mean last, social media network I will ever use. The platform might change. I might try Friendica. I maybe will open another Bookwyrm account. I might move over to go to Social permanently. I might try Write Freely again but if the platform isn’t using activity pub or an RSS feed, I just will not try it. I will never make a native account on blue sky. My account can be bridged over there and when they do shut down third-party access, the audience I’ve cultivated over here isn’t lost
