Neoliberalism wants people to hate and dont believe in politics. Politicians are just as good or bad like the society in wich they live, they are not aliens from outerspace. Right-wing wins when someone hates the politic. Politics is about power relationships, if you quit they win (the rich, the bad politicians, right wing). 11 comments
nahh the strippers and sex workers are honest about that part, that they are only in it for the money... politicians on the other hand.. lie about facts. @awkapuma @mina When someone loves it, is passionate about it, he or she probably has some sanity issues. Politicians are the last people we should idolizing because they are among the worst of us. For that reason we should not left them alone.  I am passionate about politics. In the end, politics is the business of taking care of our all common good and its future. I just don't trust leaders very far.  ...how does being interested in common events make someone "the worst of us"? Would think the alternative would be true.  Some speeches and memes promote hating politics and politicians. For example: "all politicians are the same". Billionares, rich people, right wing and people with power want everyone to hate politics, and hate all politicians, even some politicians have anti-politics speech. Each of us will have to know and discover wich speeches and memes promote hating politics and politicians. I am with Aria on this: Being a very political person myself, I have seen it far too often that people fall into the trap of putting all their hope into charismatic leaders. This is not healthy, as it will inevitably lead into brutal disenchantment or, in order to avoid it, fanatism. It's ok, we can disagree and its good, there is no only one way of thinking. My respects. I just think that the word "politicians" can be taken out from debate. We can place just "people": We dont need to idealize "a person". In that way, i think we do not contribute to further devalue and erode Politics as a fundamental tool for social change. Because real power, right wing and neoliberalism dont want us to believe in any politician or the Politics. @mina @awkapuma @ariaflame I agree, you can see Morena (México) as an example, a lot of people idolize that party, even with its flaws like corruption, narco-colluded, sect-colluded (like Clara Luz and NXIVM), violent responses to protestors in touristic places and protected areas, etc. It's not healthy, as Mina mentions. First doubt, then fact check, then like/love if you want, but a politician isn't usually at the same level as the people they "work for". |
