 🔗 Seems like people are moving around between social media apps so new profile link options now available on your account settings page: You can set Bluesky, Mastodon, and Threads accounts by revealing the "More Links" section. All of these links will appear on your profile page. Links added will have "rel=me" inserted on your profile so you can get a green check mark on your mastodon profile!  54 comments

I would suggest instead an Other Fediverse sort of option (incorporating the webfinger suggestion from another reply here), which could use the generic link icon that's currently used for one's website, or one of the proposed Fediverse logos. Hopefully other specific Fedi services can get dedicated fields eventually too. @itchio This is so cool! However "Mastodon" is not the only service available on the fediverse, there is also Lemmy, Pixelfed, Misskey... It would be so nice to have a more general "fediverse" link option. The entire fediverse shares the "@user@server.com" anyway so it shouldn't be too hard to implement!  @itchio wait let me check, does this only work on mastodon specifically, and not fediverse in general? It's forcing formatting that means it can't find my profile on akkoma.

Fediverse will group mastodon and other microblogin software. @itchio heads up that Mastodon/Fediverse addresses can't always be directly mapped to URLs eg. the URL for @tentaclehead has an added subdomain https://mastodon.indiegames.online/@tentaclehead which I think would require a webfinger request to translate @brook Our goal was to address the most common use-case since many people are moving their socials around right now. In the future we may revisit with broader support for more fediverse platforms.
