We are looking for #hardwareDonations:

If anyone has old servers, drives and equipment and shipping to/in Germany is not a problem, we appreciate your offers.

If you work for a company, we could eventually figure out donation receipts, too.

(Target location is Berlin, pickup in vicinity is not a problem)

Specifically, we could currently make use of SFF-8643 or SFF-8087 cables, if you have some spare 😉

@Codeberg email me the nature and quantity of the cables you want and a shipping address and we'll sort you out right away. Maybe can pick up some drives for you as well depending on what you need, feel free to ask for what you want/need and we'll see what can be done.

Might be able to arrange for some server hardware as well but it's not as easy. Will let you know

@Codeberg what is your definition of old? Would a Xeon E5-2620 v4 based system with 64 GB RAM be within your definition?

@ccellar The CPU sounds rather old. We have ideas for running CI on sunny days where older hardware would be acceptable.

Do you have details about the memory? If it can be used to upgrade our systems, it might be worth a consideration.

But feel free to keep them, if you still have a use for them. We have recently stocked up storage and do not need them urgently. Maybe in six months.
