Awhhh... Magic. Carmack really was a master of epic proportions. I remember something about him finding a way to approximate cosine values because at the time they were to expensive to calculate using floating point precision. Something like that.

@dosnostalgic The last FPS I played. I recall keeping the CD-ROM in the drive and Civ2 would pick up the soundtrack and play it in game. Made for an eerier experience.
