Since when is this the case? I haven't used the Google Play Store in maybe 2 years, but I don't remember any verification for 18+ apps (at least, i remember that Telegram used to install fine, with the same Google accounts that ask for age verification if I try to watch an 18+ video on YouTube)

@Gargron Well, from a German POV #fediverse carries a lot of problematic NSFW content, so it doesn't surprise me that Google labels any microblogging app 18+. Even Twitter app is labeled this way.

@Gargron If Mastodon is rated 18+ then Twitter and Facebook ought to be rated 30+ but if you're over 50 you need a cardiologist's verification that you won't have a cardiac arrest using those sites.

@Gargron I use the progressive web app and it works so well that I don’t even think about installing a native app. Maybe adding a tutorial for how to use mastodon as progressive web app when you aren’t able to install from store?

@Gargron it might be time to release a version which has a filter for known naughty instances? Then it can be appropriate for all ages.
