At some point in the next 5-10 days (I asked about follow-up), I am 100% getting a call from the dermatology department going "hey, you know your dodgy mole? We should take that off". I KNOW!!!!! JUST TAKE THE DAMN MOLE!!!!!

Off to see an actual doctor. If I come home with this fucking mole still on me I'm gonna be fuming update on this: it was melanoma in situ (ie pre cancer), something which they could have told me earlier had I not been sent for a random photoshoot. I'm fine, still salty about how long this has taken lmao You know what, gonna take this saltiness as a moment to do a bit of raising cancer awareness, because there are five warning signs of a mole being melanoma and this fucker, pictured with the genuine markup that doctors use to tell the surgeon what to remove, had FOUR of them (and I knew it was dodgy and needed to come off, it just took ages etc etc). The warning signs have a neat acronym: ABCDE. D = diameter. Bigger moles are more worrying. That's the only warning sign I didn't have. So anyway, see a doctor if your mole is fucked up in any of the ABCDE ways because apparently it takes forever for them to take the damn thing off. |
Have received a message saying I have "atypical naevus" (medicalese for "dodgy mole") and they now need to look at it in person and... I FUCKING KNOW WE ALL FUCKING KNOW WHY DID YOU WASTE A PHOTOGRAPHER'S TIME
