That problem was known before, and the Democrats (again) did nothing else but try to be the lesser evil. Trump didn't win the election, but Harris lost it.
She's alienated a substantial part of her voter base by steamrolling with a superficial "Joy!" campaign over, e.g., all demands to stop what the current, Democrat administration does to the Middle East - with her assistance, as the sitting VP.
That's like persistently silencing and discouraging parts of your troops, while ordering them to smile - until they resign and go home, the night before the battle.
