@wasserglotzer @thunderbird @fdroidorg there was a mixup with the metadata at F-Droid. K-9 is still there but it is labeled Thunderbird Beta. The app is still the same. @wasserglotzer @thunderbird @fdroidorg No, it just displays wrong at the moment: https://floss.social/@fdroidorg/113424836645932240 @erAck @thunderbird @fdroidorg I was not aware that K9 is "Thunderbird Beta for Testers", uninstalled it to install the real "Thunderbird: Free Your Inbox" and now the K9 settings are gone. Thank you. @erAck @thunderbird @fdroidorg so this is the story in short off the top of my head (and apart from the recent metadata mixup): @erAck @tinx @thunderbird @fdroidorg There is an easy migration: Update to the latest version of K9, install Thunderbird, and select "import from app" or something like this, I think it is the third option. You can then select K9 and all settings and passwords are imported. @zaunkoenig Probably should be prominently added to the com.fsck.k9 description. @erAck @tinx @thunderbird @fdroidorg I just switched to Thunderbird, because otherwise the "write new message" button is in an ugly red. :-) @tinx @erAck @thunderbird @fdroidorg @erAck @D22 @tinx @thunderbird @fdroidorg But ... there is. You can select import from app without any backup. @erAck @thunderbird @fdroidorg I installed the normal Thunderbird version and imported the settings from K9 but had to enter the passwords and 2fa for the accounts itself. After that uninstalled the K9 version. @thunderbird @fdroidorg @murdoc @fdroidorg They are separate apps, but if you decide to migrate, we have an easy process to move your settings over: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-android-import @thunderbird @fdroidorg Is it normal that the icon doesnβt change when I just upgrade from K9 (everything works perfectly well otherwise, and UI is a bit better; thank you!)? |
