@hdv Thanks! I think this is one of the things that hasn’t been thought through enough and started to surface in independent implementations.  @pepelsbey it's been talked about for a bit… I think these maybe the first implementations of popover as an implicit anchor element https://drafts.csswg.org/css-anchor-position-1/#implicit which I believe is added to HTML here https://github.com/whatwg/html/pull/9144 |

@pepelsbey I feel the current Firefox and Safari is a great default, and what I had personally hoped for ever since popover shipped… TBH I am unsure why it works, as this didn't work before, I need to catch up on what's making this work and where we decided, will update my post accordingly too
