@neauoire what do you think are the advantages of backlinks? i've seen a lot about implementing them, but not much about why it's worth doing

@noa I often end up on a page and knowing where it is referenced not only gives me context on what this page is actually documenting, but it usually sends me to places that gives me a better overview of how this page fits in the big picture of the site.

@noa I was just on a stub page that was hyper-focused on a specific thing, and I was like, what even is that for. Clicked a few of the backlinks, I knew instantly where that was used for.

@neauoire @noa totally agree. i've spent a lot of time hacking backlinks into whatever i'm using as a personal wiki (vimwiki these days)

for me, backlinks expose a lot of the real magic of a hypertext - and the way that a link is (or can be, at least) functionally the same as a tag.

@neauoire Was pretty fun when I was implementing them for my wiki; I thought it was gonna be hard to keep track of everything, but I just ended up doing a grep over all the other files to see where the file is referenced, and add that to the bottom of the page '^^
