@EdBoatConnoisseur @p @skylar @skylar nice use of fuzzy finder. Semi related, have you ever seen the apt wrapper called nala (wrapper may not be right word it but :akarinShrug: )

@karna @p @skylar @skylar Yes, i've used nala for a while now, just been using plain apt lately since it currently has a pretty enough output.

@EdBoatConnoisseur @p @skylar @skylar Oh yeah they did pretty up a little recently. That said, the ui you made looks pretty nice too

@karna @p @skylar @skylar Well, this thing is all about being lazy, options 1 and 2 are straight up for lazyness, option 3 however is real useful, if you've ever used "apt search" and got angry with the shitty or useless results then filtering with fzf is a game changer, option 4 is nice to have, now options 5 and 6 are either useless or really neat as for whatever reason you may need to know what files belong to a package, sometimes you know the package but not the files others you know the files but not the package

@EdBoatConnoisseur @p @skylar @skylar > if you've ever used "apt search" and got angry with the shitty or useless results
literally very time I have a nontrivial search :writhing_shroom:

> package files
thats probably useful if you are packaging stuff I imagine
pistolero

Yeah, I resort to piping its output through sort and then grepping for what I want.
:debian: EdBoatConnoisseur :arch2:

@p @karna @skylar @skylar still have to add a couple more features, processing input to the script so that you can for example launch the package search without going through the menu, the other is a help function

@EdBoatConnoisseur @p @skylar @skylar speaking of fzf, since you are already using it, if you wanted to take it all the way you make the entire UI part using it too like this guy did youtube.com/watch?v=qwpK4rqAZwA (code: github.com/gotbletu/fzf-nova )

@EdBoatConnoisseur @p @skylar @skylar Thats neat, looks like you were already well aware of this stuff then. tbh I only ever use fzf inside vim for searching large codebases so I can't really comment too much on what you already have

@EdBoatConnoisseur @p @skylar @skylar also I dont think ive seen you poast very many copypastas considering you have probably the fastest access to them on here

:debian: EdBoatConnoisseur :arch2: replied to :buffsuki:

@karna @p @skylar @skylar well, is not that i have many copypastas, a good number of them are outright fedi posts and shitposts turned copy pastas, get sum cring https://gitlab.varis.social/edboatconnoisseur/my-copypastas

@EdBoatConnoisseur @p @skylar @skylar I see. well, 44 is a pretty sizable number regardless.
> total seaborne death
Is this about the python plotting library? What did it do wrong (besides being pyrhon-slop)?
> gitlab.varis.social
I never realized varish had a gitlab instance. you have forge accounts every where..

is a stupid arknights shitpost, it is the total nigger death copypasta but for the seaborn from arknights

@karna @p @skylar @skylar i mean, you know a lot of these come from the fediverse when there are versions of the total nigger death pasta for gacha games...

Kill seaborn. Behead seaborn. Roundhouse kick a seaborn into the concrete. Slam dunk a seaborn baby into the trashcan. Crucify filthy seaborns. Defecate in a seaborn food. Launch seaborn into the sun. Stir fry seaborn in a wok. Toss seaborn into active volcanoes. Urinate into a seaborn gas tank. Judo throw seaborn into a wood chipper. Twist seaborn heads off. Report seaborn to the IRS. Karate chop seaborn in half. Curb stomp pregnant seaborn. Trap seaborn in quicksand. Crush seaborn in the trash compactor. Liquefy seaborn in a vat of acid. Eat seaborn. Dissect seaborn. Exterminate seaborn in the gas chamber. Stomp seaborn skulls with steel toed boots. Cremate seaborns in the oven. Mandatory abortions for seaborns. Grind seaborns fetuses in the garbage disposal. Drown seaborns in fried chicken grease. Vaporize seaborns with a ray gun. Kick old seaborns down the stairs. Feed seaborn to alligators. Slice seaborn with a katana.

@karna @p @skylar @skylar ever read the hitler unit?

One Hitler shall henceforth be a unit of measurement equal to 6.0*106 human deaths.

Standard SI prefixes apply. Thus Harold Shipman's achievements amount to 36 microhitlers.

The true utility of the Hitler as an SI unit is it allows useful unit conversions.

For example: the EPA currently values a human life as being worth 6.9 million us dollars (6.9 megadollars). A simple unit conversion thus gives us 1 Hitler is equivalent to -41,400,000,000,000 dollars. (-41 teradollars).

It can therefore be quantitatively established whether or not someone is "worse than Hitler". When congress failed to pass a stimulus bill in 2008 the market lost 1.2 trillion dollars in 1 day, roughly equivalent to 29 millihitlers. Joseph Stalin is the only human I know of who can be called worse than Hitler, as his achievements clocked roughly 5 Hitlers.

When your bank nails you with a 35 dollar fine, you can confidently tell the teller that they are currently fucking you over to the tune of 84 picohitlers and ask if they have a very tiny auschwitz behind the counter.
