In an assessment you made about searchEngines we saw somewhat recently, you struck out Startpage from a list of viable options because the icon had purple.

Agree that one generally wants to have a couple options for an icon in case a person is already using one that is similar.

@dsfgs please, if you’re going to quote me, do so accurately. It wasn’t because of the logo being purple. It was because their entire theme is purple and that particular washed out shade that they use doesn’t appeal to me.

I said in my reply to this particular toot that I liked the new colour purple mastodon are using.

Boycotting something for a colour choice is not a strategy we would use.

Maybe boycott is the incorrect term, but semantics aside you effectively 'ruled out' Startpage due to the purple.
