lmao, the FBI is mad that the Z-Library founders are having holidays

@ErikUden I'd like to see how the main CEOs and shareholders of Wiley, hachette, Elsevier spend their money. @antoinechambertloir the FBI really shows pictures of some dope ass nature or maybe hotel, but still proletarian holidays, and says “look at how luxuriously they spend their money!!” wtf... All journals have higher profit margins than big tech companies. Their CEOs got super Yachts and shit. What is wrong with the FBI @ErikUden @antoinechambertloir thats just a normal holiday anywhere in Europe... Most of what I've got from these places are scans of 1960s-90s books on cars and motoring, long out of print, many of the authors are deceased (and made a good living as motoring journalists), the publishers have lost out on 0,00€ @ErikUden @antoinechambertloir the organization which pushed Aaron Swartz into Suicide? Yeah... @ErikUden @antoinechambertloir their target audience is the sort of bougie person, the sort who in any ancient fairytale would have been the wicked stepmother, cruel dying king or anthropophagous monster but in america is considered a perfectly normal standard human being, who goes absolutely frothing mad at the thought that someone on food stamps might be buying bubble gum with it
@ErikUden In the spirit of "piracy is curation", folks may want to know that Z Library has a lot of domain redundancy and that there is a reddit forum that usually has pretty good information about which ones are currently working. @ErikUden I guess we'll just have to rely on Anna for the foreseeable future: https://annas-archive.org/ @ErikUden as with everything. If Americans are <insert almost anything here> - their government is not doing anything. But if anyone from any other country is doing <insert the same thing>, then it’s real shit and they have to act. @ErikUden the fuck? When i saw that screenshot i thought that was a joke. @ErikUden to secure a working link to the z lib archive, search telegram. Connect with their channel & obtain the latest valid link. I would concur w their ethos, information should be free. Not locked by govts & corporations. I will not argue w you if you disagree. You're wrong. @ErikUden@mastodon.de appalling that they're going for the appeal to mistrust of foreigners and appeal to crab-bucket mentality @ErikUden
> The fact they had to mention that these people are Russian also strikes me as odd. odd might not be the word anyone who remembers the japanese internment camps might use 💀 @ErikUden oh no they have a camper trailer! they must be bloody billionaires @ErikUden what absolute fucking dorks the FBI are being here. What kind of idiot do you have to be to imagine that presenting zlib like this makes them look bad? Go shut down all the billion dollar silicon valley darlings doing the exact same thing, but worse, at industrial scale, then come back here and we can talk about this. You are being stooges for the rich & powerful by stamping on everyone else's interests. @ErikUden Also, they spent the money on... rainbows? How do some people's minds even work? @ErikUden Is that a real FBI message or a parody? It barely looks as if adults were involved in its creation. @ErikUden as a published scientist who receives zero revenue from any of the work I've published with for-profit academic journals, and not even that, had to pay for said publications with public funds (yes, this is how it works): Fuck publishing houses like Elsevier and the likes and I have absolutely no moral problem with how those supposed cybercriminals spend their money @ErikUden smh these Russian Cybercrime Hackers getting expensive face-blurring surgeries @ErikUden Ah yes when I think "evil crime family" I think "going camping" @ErikUden@mastodon.de Yeah that just looks like regular holiday photos to me, nothing extravagant. @ErikUden lmao honestly this makes me feel better about what the z library founders are doing with their money (which is from ad revenue or smth? never used the site) a lot of middle class people have identical looking holiday photos fuck the FBI, just another type of pig looking out for the interests of capital @ErikUden@mastodon.de At least they are not killing anyone, they are only spreading knowledge... unlike "other" people. And AFAIK, z-library complied and deleted a bunch of books under a DMCA. @ErikUden@mastodon.de DON'T GIVE YOUR MONEY TO EVIL RUZZIAN CYBER CRIMINALS. GIVE IT TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE̶E̷E̵E̶E̶E̵E̷̺͌Ḛ̶̆͋E̶̱̜̾E̶̱͚͒̕E̶̻͗̾Ẻ̸̖̹͝Ḛ̷͈͋̏Ê̸͉̥Ȩ̵̨͈̞̜̘̻̲͇̯͙́̒̾̀̈́Ę̵͉̹̭̏̊̆͑̀͌È̵̖̗̰̣̟͚̑̂̎͊̉̓͌͘͘̚E̷̟̒̇̂̂̐́̀̒̽Ę̴̫̩̠̯̪̈͌̋͋͆̈́̈́̒̕̕͝É̷̝͙̲̝͋͝ @ErikUden Wow, and here I am working hard to save up enough to purchase a rainbow of my own before I die Yeah right, don't give money to regular people having regular vacations while also helping make knowledge more accessible. Instead, give it to corporations that already have orders of magnitude more money than they know what to do with, and themselves contribute almost nothing of value to the society. medvedych, it can very well be somewhere around St Petersburg, it's not like the natural landscapes change when you cross the Finnish border |
