My work laptop is just too glitchy after upgrading from Ubuntu 16.04 to 18.04. Going to have to re-install fresh, try Pop!_OS this time since it's a System76 laptop.

@Gargron 18.04? I'm already on 20.04 🤔

@Gargron I've just started using Pop and it is brilliant.

@Gargron This kind of thing is what sent me back to debian

Nicholas

@Gargron are you bold enough to try the new 20.04 release of Pop?

DeathDisco

@Gargron I tried ubuntu 20 recently and it hasn't changed. Overly heavy gnome and it's unnecessary. Booting back into nixos with i3 was like a breath of fresh air.

@Gargron Pop!_OS is fantastic. 18.04 and now 20.04 have been great for me. Hope you enjoy it!

@Gargron I always do a fresh install for the smoothest experience. If I was going to run something other than Ubuntu it would be Fedora or Manjaro.

I'm almost ready to make the move from Ubuntu 20.04 to EndeavourOS, based on Arch. I couldn't get a few things working with Ubuntu (blu-ray disc non-recognizing, difficult VPN installation, etc.). The first time I tried getting blu-ray to wrk with Endeavour, it did!
