used to know a guy who was very into this sort of thing. we had some discussions about it.

diamond makes sense from some angles but on the front end still has lots of technical challenges

on the back end we don't want our heirs repurposing it into, say, mining tools

what if moveable type, but for printing onto structural tiles: roofing, siding, backsplashes, drainage, etc

more fragile material, but still with good long-term properties. compensate its downsides by making lots of cheap & widely distributed copies
