@Trojaner @publicvoit My aging parents live 150km away, unfortunately a car is a necessity at this stage. @publicvoit @Trojaner yep - no public transit. Rural Alberta, Canada is a very expansive place. It might not look like it from a map but when you start charting distances, it's massive. To compare, a European could drive through three countries in the distance I would drive from Edmonton to Calgary. And we call that a day trip. @chad If I decide I want an EV I'll convert an old ICE car to one before I buy a Tesla. @chad I put “No”, but I suspect I would, secondhand, if I could get it cheaper than, a Hyundai Kona e. @chad I live in a condo, no EVs for me for the foreseeable future, but if I had the option, I certainly wouldn't buy a Muskmobile. @chad I don't know if I feel comfortable with the fact that if I bought such a car I would *HAVE* to jailbreak it like a phone. Although the scary thing is that applies to a lesser extent to almost all EVs (which should not be considered acceptable.) But Teslas... Yikes... And that's not even getting into just how horrible Musk is and such. Some people with existing Teslas are actually removing the logos and putting on other brand logos, lol. "It's not a Tesla. it's, uh, a Hyundai. Yeah." @loganer I hope you understand that an ICE car is literally a bomb on wheels, exploding gasoline/detonating diesel thousands of times per second? @chad No, and it's 90% because of the owner. The rest is that the nearest repair shop is two hours away and I'm not confident the Model 3 is sufficiently reliable. @chad Oh sorry. I realized that this ws a real car question. @chad no. And it's a pity, they really are the perfect car for me. I have pre ordered an Aptera instead. @chad@mstdn.ca for a fiver, already disassembled Since I experienced the Climate Crisis in Iraq firsthand in 2015/16, I bought 100% Electric Renault cars only. Because of Musk, I left the former Twitter, which he turned into failing X. Damaging Tesla on his ways, too. Blume saw melting snow on Kurdistan Mountaintops and resulted that must be caused by climate. @chad I wouldn't buy any car at all though. I have no need for a car nor anywhere to put one. @pre unfortunately my aging parents live 150km away. I need to be able to visit them. I do envy folks that don't need to rely on a car, though. @chad Not even a theoretical answer. Tesla owner between 2020-2024, but when it was time to take out a new lease the only requirement we had was _not Tesla_. /VW ID.7 |
@chad What for? I have a bike and an app for buses and trains. There are far too many cars!@publicvoit
