Artist Chelo depicts what we see - and what we don't see - on social media. I like the full-circle nature of this comic.

@Sheril Iโm guilty of this at timesโฆ the reason I got into open social media was to find spaces to break that habit. Enjoy the skin youโre in and celebrate the life you have if you can. Bring attention to positives and also point out the negatives. But most of all, log out and touch grass as much as you can. @Sheril #alt4you part 2 of 2: @Sheril Social media no different than our living rooms, kitchens, and ourselves when guests are coming. Cleaned, polished, and at our best. The remaining is hid away somewhere, not to be seen. @GregArcus @Sheril I am even guilty myself, I recently got two new tyres for my car (brand new, but had been stored in a dusty warehouse) and didn't put the photos on my social media yet as I thought "these tyres look filthy, and the alloys need cleaning on all 4 corners, can't share pictures of them yet" as I'm known for detailing my car (and the weather has been too variable for detailing recently) @GregArcus @vfrmedia @Sheril I'm an oddball I like posting projects in progress and other imperfect stuff because motivating people that they can do it too is big for me. That said, much like this comic, the fact that I can do any projects at all or have a wife and house and car at all, can be hugely painful for some. They don't see the downsides of relationships or possessions on my feed though, since that would be a bit too transparent/depressing/controversial. Linkin Park: The Emptiness Machine Don't try to imitate someone else in the naive hope you'd be happy then. I mean... I'll take the heartache of losing a dog but having a spouse and not being hungry over the others... IDK. The thing I'm most jealous of that I see on social media are: 1. the cool things people make that I wish I could make Mostly the best cure is to just tell them. That's so cool I wish I could do that wow! Somehow that makes me feel better. |
@Sheril there is a sadness in there that hurts.
