@baiteh @fesshole good news is: it actually does at least sometimes. I know someone who reported that something like this worked for her. A friend made a Markov chain bot which automatically engaged with and distracted unpleasant people who were bothering her on Twitter. (This was years prior to Musk's buyout of Twitter.) She saw a marked decrease in rambling unpleasant strangers in her mentions.
