the way you worded this reminds me of a very stupid rule in magic the gathering, if a card's effect is worded as "add them to your hand" after it makes you draw cards from your deck it technically doesn't count as "drawing" a card, and won't trigger any of the effects that should normally trigger when drawing a card. there are several cards intended to prevent your opponents from drawing more than one card per turn or that make them lose life for drawing extra cards but by using cards that make you "add cards to your hand" instead of "draw cards" you can get around it.
