So, @capital uses "necrotic" as opposed to bitrot, because bitrot implies things have been left to decay but software necrosis is rotting while alive and maintained.

@neauoire There is also a part of me that felt rot wasn't the right term because rot is a natural part of a healthy ecosystem. Things come and go. Necrosis however kills. It's not consuming the dead and recycling its components, but bringing something to its death.
