I tried watching Space Force on Netflix and it was... kinda bad? It wasn't funny.

@Gargron it's really odd, I don't think it was even bad just kinda dull most of the time. Line they had no idea what tone they were going for in the performances, and then it was edited as a drama for some reason. There's a staggering amount of talent in that show but it's hard to spot it. Also Carrell is a good actor but he's wasted in a mostly straight role. He should have played the science advisor and focused the show on that character. @Gargron avenue 5 was equally unwatchable. Lots of pregnant pauses and rambling dialogue choices from comedians who aren't very good off script. @Gargron Currently I am just binge watching The Orville from/with Seth MacFarlane. I am not into soap opera or science fiction (but I do like Futurama, Family Guy and Simpsons; and yes I am a sarcastic person too) but this helped a bit to stay at home and it is a nice soap science humor fiction opera social thingy .. in space … with a ship … and normal peoples problems @Gargron Only got through 2 episodes. It’s an awkward mess with some funny parts and skilled actors, but can’t decide if it’s a farce, a satire, a dramedy or what. They seem to want to paint the military as cartoonishly inept but somehow make it emotionally real, and it just doesn’t work. Eg. you can’t be a fighter pilot and have zero understanding of science and math. The Office successfully blended ineptitude, satire and real drama but this takes the extremes too far. @Gargron strangely I feel like it was dumbed down for an USA audience. Like in e01, the rocket couldn’t launch because of too much “moisture”. @Gargron I watched the first episode and felt it could have been much better. Maybe it's one of those shows that gets better? |
