@SludgePhD @sillyCoelophysis @Agrawals_1_Twitter_Dream @mybarkingdogs @ernie correct. But to do that you have now removed the “transfer rights … for any reason”. My point here is that absolutes and easy answers are not the answer. Even in your scenario you are using the force of government, essentially eminent domain, to take away an artists right to sell their IP. That devalues their work and ability to find ways to profit from it.

I am glad Dolly Parton was wise enough not to relinquish those rights early on. I wish Taylor Swift could have done the same thing, but am glad she is now wealthy enough to reclaim those rights.
