Today is World Emoji Day, so here's a reminder that we have π³ and π· but not

@eheisman @davidzipper also not to be confused woth the car traffic banned sign in many Traffic Codes... With the shape it rather looks like a sign to ban #Trabant and other #GDR-made cars tho... @davidzipper i helped creating the π¦₯ emoji. Itβs actually not too complex to apply for an emoji. Wanna try? We could team up on that. @davidzipper I want to add we have βοΈ, which in general mostly applies to π. Which kind of is the default and needs no picture. Which is great. That's a good symbol for traffic rules, less so when you want to use a symbol next (or inside!) a sentence. But since applies to π² and πΆ as well, then why not a specific no cars emoji, given that π³ π· exist? This feels suspiciously like conversations over βheβ as a universal pronoun in English, reveals more about your unexamined assumptions than you think it does. @kmetz @davidzipper depends... Unless stated otherwise that also applies to cyclists! At least where I live... @resol @davidzipper or they just didn't bother to include all the normed traffic signs from Germany to this day... @davidzipper I love how this sign still features a 1960's car ... or is it just an old Lada? @davidzipper the correct sign is this: Sign 251: Cars banned - Tho for the most part you see Sign 250: which is just the red ring on white background, banning all traffic. Not to be confused with Sign 331.1 signifying a Motor Vehicle Road that like Highway are only allowed for use by vehicles that have a mximum speed of at least 61km/h, but unlik a highway do allow for level crossings and traffic lights! Looking on #Unicode block for Transport and Map Symbols https://www.unicode.org/charts/nameslist/n_1F680.html the selection looks the most random anyone could get. At least should include basic traffic signs from Vienna Convention https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vienna_Convention_on_Road_Signs_and_Signals |
