I am interviewed in the Wall Street Journal today about the difficulty/futility of identifying bots on social media, and more generally why Elon Musk is likely blowing smoke saying that bots are the reason he is pausing his Twitter acquisition.

wsj.com/articles/elon-musks-tw (paywalled, sorry!)

@george that link is paywalled for me -- the WSJ uses a nondeterministic AI-based paywall that is based on many different variables detected in the user's browser. the facebook workaround almost always works, but if you don't want to go through FB, someone backed it up here too archive.ph/q4EaO

@darius very weird. My library gives us access to the WSJ and I chose the "copy free link" option to generate the URL and then verified in a private browser. Fuzzy paywall rules are frustrating.

@darius You can use the archive.today websute to find and/or create an archived, unpaywalled version of your article. It creates a URL for the archived version which you can share. Here's yours: archive.ph/q4EaO

@webweaver yeah I have a tendency to become the main source in most articles that interview me because I am... very candid haha
