@mcc Sometimes I do seriously wonder if Firefox is really such a great replacement for Chromium. I mean sure, in like 99% of how it works it's at least better, but there's still lots of stuff that just should not be there. And I'm So. Freaking. Sick. of opt out being a thing. It shouldn't exist. Period. If something affects privacy/etc it should be opt in. Period. I really wish there was more competition in the browser market. I really miss Opera. They were amazing back in the day. 😞

@nazokiyoubinbou @mcc niche features that 90% of people won't ever end up using (like that Pocket thing ffs) should be made into extensions like any other, not compiled into the browser

@soop @mcc The funny thing is, Opera had a bunch of features built in and almost no plugins/extensions back in its day (talking about Opera, not the fake.) Yet it was still the lightest, most efficient browser of its time. I had an ancient P1-70 laptop I kept for a handful of things that I put Windows 98SE on and used a PCMCIA network adapter to get it online (WiFi was no-go with 9x -- didn't support WPA) and Opera was the *ONLY* thing that didn't bog down to an absolute crawl.
