@thunderbird Not sure I follow why someone would want this. A system tray is an old concept that is no longer required in my opinion, especially on a Linux desktop.

@fdellwing Ok, that is fine. Just want to understand. Can you not minimize the app and then if you want access to it you switch to it using the keyboard or mouse? @adamsdesk That is not the reason I want a tray. The reason is, that I want to easily see how many mails are unread without foregrounding TB. @fdellwing Okay, but that is what the notification area is for. Though I realize not all DE have this, but in my mind should. |
@adamsdesk I do not agree with you on that. I dont know what desktop you are using, but for me the system tray for TB is essential.
