Is it just me, or does the weekend seem shorter and shorter as the years go by? #WeekendFeels #TimeFlies #WeekendVibes #LifeObservations #WeekendThoughts

@ProfessorGumby @j @me There's also a psychological effect where you brain essentially stops writing memories of things it considers mundane repetitive tasks that you do frequently. Hence the feeling of things like 'I drove home on autopilot and have no recollection of anything on the trip' As I remember it, you can break this effect by explicitly noting things during the repetition and either telling someone else or writing a journal that forces you to use the memories. @me I always say that the length of the weekend is inversely proportional to how much we needed it. @me I used to visualize the weekdays/weekend cycle like this, and it was never played out the way I hoped, strangely enough! 😅 (Excuse the quick'n'dirty ASCII art) And in actual response to what you posted, _everything_ seems shorter and faster as we get older, probably something to do with the size relative to our already lived lifetimes. |
@me The weekend is the same. It's our perception of time that speeds up.
