@Gargron IO200 is a very nice CMS for photographers. Self-hostable with low prerequisites, though not FOSS. 😕 The Need for your own photo place over pixelfed etc. is understandable. Its not enough to present photos in a kind of feed alongside creations of others. Especially if opening your archives it is good to publish the content with the correct date from the past. This CMS is derived from the great Koken which unfortunately disappeared. https://www.io200.com/

I've also found rolling your own is a great way to keep from getting hacked. They usually Target the major platforms.

@Gargron I too decided to just make one, a simple static one; I wish there were some decent static generator setups for photo websites, using git to publish stuff is not optimal.

@eleventy is a very flexible way to create static websites. Maybe that works for you.

@Gargron Great work. What tools do you use? How are new albums created?

I'm still hesitant to create one. Basically because I have pretty complex ideas about what such a site should do: interface with Google Photos (my preferred photo management tool), handling all viewports (desktop, mobile) in a modern way, subscription to channels and/or tags, comments, purchase/print functionality, merchandize, etc.
