Which feed reader do you use to subscribe to Mastodon accounts?

@Gargron I don't use RSS to follow anything on Mastodon but if I did, it would be FreshRSS or QuiteRSS.

Nautiloide MX

@Gargron Mastodon for ios and Android, Amaroq, Tusky

noam

@Gargron why use an RSS reader and not follow accounts?

Marsden

@Gargron I don't subscribe to any yet, but when I get around to it my current reader of choice is inoreader.com/

@Gargron I don't use this functionality personally, but if I did, it'd be Feedly. That's what I use for other RSS feeds.

@Gargron Tusky. I tried the official Mastodon, but I love Tusky's UIX for looking at node feed and also one to look at combined nodes feeds.

Mastodon RSS feed feature is helpful because I don't want to miss toots some people from the timeline.

@Gargron
Until now, i didn't thought about using a #RSS feed reader to follow #Mastodon accounts.

But i use #Flym. Also used #Feeder. Following RSS feeds outside Mastodon.

Flym (Leichter und moderner Feed-Reader)
f-droid.org/packages/net.frju.

Feeder (Ein großartiger, kostenloser und quelloffener RSS-Feedreader)
f-droid.org/packages/com.nonon

IcyShark

@Gargron How do I get access to my home RSS feed?

Eugen Rochko

@IcyShark There's none for home. Only public feeds for profiles and hashtags.

@Gargron

I don't, but I'd use FeedBro if I did. My library recommended it for following their new titles feeds and it's pretty nice.

@Gargron Stream for iOS.

I built it, so it may not be worth counting because I’m biased.😃

@Gargron Newsblur has been my go-to for years now. Only site I've found that hits that Google Reader vibe for me.

@Gargron right now i just have four instances open in four tabs on my computer ... what do you suggest?

@Gargron TinyTinyRSS for monitoring and N8N (as low code tool) to forward to Twitter for instance.

WiredFire

@Gargron I mainly use Inoreader for my RSS feeds, but for social media account RSS feeds, including birdsite via nitter, I use Netnewswire in order to keep news and social separate.

@Gargron If I were to use a feed reader, I'd consider Thunderbird, since I use it for email anyway.

Adam Dalliance

@Gargron I am thinking of making the switch to doing that.

If I do it will be with a self-hosted Tiny-Tiny-RSS.

I have some php script to pull in feeds and munge them about and add first-link-page-previews and in-reply-to type stuff from Twitter and other places, so I'd expand that to include stuff from the Mastodon instance.

MacLemon

@Gargron FreshRSS (Web aggregator and sync backend), Newsboat (CLI client), Reeder (iOS Client), and Vienna (macOS Client). Only FreshRSS interacts with websites, clients only sync with FreshRSS.

HexGremlin

@Gargron the Mastodon official app (Android). Prior to that, Tusky.
