I have written a number of independently published books and I don't want them available for free because I spend my own money on an editor and cover designer, then the cost of printing books, and my book sales are part of my income. I don't go through a publisher but distribute through libraries so if people want to read them for free they have that option. Indie authors deserve to be paid just like any profession.
