Alaska is one of the most breathtaking places we had the chance of sailing through. It's tough at times and cold most of the time, but it's also a massive sailing playground filled with countless birds, sealions, otters and whales as only company. It's also extremely quiet, the only sound the break the silence besides birds chirping, and whales coming up for air, is the sound of the waterfalls on the high cliffs.

@neauoire Alaska in the spring and summer may be the most beautiful place on earth. If it weren't so much danged work to get there, I'd go every year.

@neauoire Too bad we didn't buy it from Russia. 😕

@lutzray @neauoire the border lines are so funny in these parts, like B.C. is still east of us, 37 km inland.

@neauoire you have a ways to go before this, but can you take a pic of Lituya bay as you pass? It’s the site of the highest witnessed wave in modern times

@slew We won't be going that high, and following the outside coast would be much too dangerous for us. If we wanted to go to Kodiak, for example, we'd probably stay 200km away from the shore, so wouldn't see the entrance to Lituya.
