@neauoire Oh! it seems I don't qualify yet :) will continue creating content

wakest ⁂

@neauoire a sensible number. did you add this new cap to the readme page?

Devil Lu Linvega

@liaizon Not yet, but I will when it gets close.

@neauoire was recently thinking it might be good to have a comaintainer of the repo and maybe it could move to the merv git!

Devil Lu Linvega

@liaizon what do you mean by a container? I could make a mirror to git.merv, but ideally I'd like to move it to site.sr.ht

wakest ⁂

@neauoire would just be cool to get off GitHub.. co maintainer aka more then just you able to add or deny PRs

Devil Lu Linvega

@liaizon yeah for sure, I'd like to move it to sr.ht at some point. tosatur is my comaintainer :)

@neauoire what’s your technique for monitoring content changes in each website or if they go down?

Devil Lu Linvega

@syx I use the webring a lot as a jumping point to get stuff off websites I've visited, so I tend to notice when things go down and reach out to the maintainers.

As for the content, the webring has a search engine(lieu.cblgh.org/), which it only ever happened once when I noticed someone sharing really nast content and I hate to kick them off, but usually it's not much fussing.

@neauoire the search engine is very neat! :O
I also maintain a list but I run a selenium script that looks for major front end differences every two weeks or so…

@neauoire @syx
That's cool! How does it search pages? Just a text match in all the pages? Description match in RSS feeds?

@neauoire i keep meaning to make a pr when i feel like my site is "ready", but its always a work in progress

wonder if i can snipe number 256 lol

jakintosh

@neauoire i’m having a hard time using the remote hosted svg webring icon to work with my dark-mode css on my site. (i’m stuffing my svg files in <object> and styling with a class). would it be a problem to host my own version of the icon, with the added class/stylesheet links? I could probably rework my styling approach though if the re-used asset part is important, but figured i’d check

Devil Lu Linvega

@jakintosh no problem at all, make it fit your design :)
