I love how beautiful lowtech requesting weather data from NOAA works. The US is doing weather right.

@neauoire I absolutely *love* the "forecast discussion" pages they put out. Charts are nice, but sometimes I wanna know what Ratzer and Castro have to say about the weather.

@neauoire My main form of consuming weather is scraping the NWS with my zip code to get a chart like this -- very neat, automatically changes to include snow etc through the winter for instance

A weather chart.

@smlavine Oh that's neat, I love that visualization. We need to know where the low/high pressure systems are so we can sail around them so the x,y is usefuly, but otherwise, this is excellent : )

@neauoire NOAA is one of the best things about this country; i was surprised when i found out how relatively unique it is

@neauoire
Please write them a letter saying so.
This kind of low-tech service is routinely threatened by the technological "progress" crowd.

@neauoire Oh how I would love some kind of embedded e-ink display where you could browse these!

@neauoire Seems like pressure keeps going down where you headed, right?
The chart is beautiful indeed.

@artsun We'll use a system tomorrow and the following day to push us beyond Dixon Entrance. Hopefully the sea is not too wild. We're aiming for a early departure(5am)
