Sigil 5 (A Slow-Moving Tower of Babel)

12" x 12"
Acrylic, Charcoal, Graphite, Collage, Silver and Gold Leaf
Wood Panel

A three-winged, many-eyed angel resembling a crown of thorns hovers above a black tower. Near it, a Wormrōte sigil reads 'A Slow-Moving Tower of Babel'. Behind them, a faint collage of hymns can be seen in the background, and various details such as sigils are gilded in silver and gold leaf.

@helveticablanc Lovely.

I can see you're enjoying doing physical work

@dualhammers I have! It's been a jarring but good change for me!

@helveticablanc

I've really been enjoying seeing your physical media work evolve.

@helveticablanc

It shows. I'm learning by seeing examples.

You've got me pondering ways to add some textures to my linocuts...

@helveticablanc

I'm working slowly. Still trying to figure out the lino part. Specifically, how one prints over irregular surfaces reliably.

@RussSharek If you're not married to lino, may I suggest dabbing paint through a stencil?

@helveticablanc

I might have to abandon it for the idea I'm brewing, which would be frustrating because it's now carved and awaiting printing.

The piece says 'o pana e kon' which translates approximately to 'Breathe.'

@RussSharek Hmm, I've never used lino myself, so I don't have any pointers. The design is cool tho!

@helveticablanc

Thank you!

I have been looking at découpage and collage techniques mostly. My thought is print on thin to the point of transparent paper, then glue into piece.

@neauoire Aw thanks! I'm on a short break to gather supplies, but then have a few that I hope really kick it up a notch!
