@frameworkcomputer curious, does the new webcam (2nd gen) work with all other generations + Linux?

Thibault Molleman🇧🇪 🌈🐝

@dhry @frameworkcomputer you can always buy the older version and upgrade later, that's the beauty of it!

(the new laptop has a better webcam and higher res display and faster processor/ram)

@dhry @frameworkcomputer :sigh: tell me you don't understand how this works by telling me you don't understand how this works.....
Not even gonna try and make you understand cause you clearly don't care.

@thibaultmol their user banner is brave browser... 🤣

@frameworkcomputer What is the deal with the power adapter on this new one? Looking at a DIY pre-order Intel Core and I don't see any option for picking one, opting out, or any indication if it comes with one by default.

@frameworkcomputer is there somewhere in the Bay Area I can try one?

@frameworkcomputer FINALLY SWEDEN!
I just bought a used Lenovo last month though, so that's a bit awkward...
I gave you 4 years!

Jan Jansen

@ViggenMyLove @frameworkcomputer i give you 6 months! It just tickles in your head until you can't resist anymore

Melker Ulander

@frameworkcomputer Yes yes yes finally you'll be shipping to Sweden! Take my money!

@frameworkcomputer oooo! i hope you'll consider adding pink as a future color >:3

@frameworkcomputer now that you're selling a display by resolution, it might be a good idea to list the resolution of the old screen in the marketplace?

It feels stupid to have to do a Google search to figure out how the two screens options differ

Quixoticgeek

@frameworkcomputer when can we get a framework laptop with a nipple in the middle of the keyboard?

Vladimir

@frameworkcomputer I wish I knew that before ordering my Framework a couple of weeks ago heh

Barnibu

@frameworkcomputer something is wrong there, the AMD seems to have actually gotten more expensive

mORA

@frameworkcomputer Great.
But.
This is the “Specs” page

frame.work/it/en/products/lapt

I wasn’t able to find the screen resolution.

Tom

@frameworkcomputer What are these "Rounded active areas"? You have some photos?

Storm4943

@frameworkcomputer
You've answered to my exact need!
- 2:1 scaling screen 👌
- Linux keyboard 😍

I'm only waiting for the actual release in hope for a rounded frame (OCD is triggered).

PS: Please update the trackpad to feel better and I'm instabuying it.

terrehbyte

@frameworkcomputer That's super tempting, though I'm already happy with my Framework 16...!

The slow display on the Framework 13 was the main reason I had to return it in favor of the 16, but if it's 120hz with good pixel response, I might have to take a look again...

Mike

@frameworkcomputer is the premium screen default on the pre-builds? i'm not seeing options in the config for it. should i just DIY for that?

josef

@frameworkcomputer oy oy. does it got Trackpoint on it yet like

OddOpinions5

@frameworkcomputer
I can't tell, but it looks like you are way more $ then on sale items at , say, Staples (US)

I think a comparable computer at Staples, sort of the every day sale price, would be about US $600

Lonely Alone :an: :oc:

@frameworkcomputer I've just shared your video 👍

Jan Jansen

@frameworkcomputer oh boy! I just bought a Laptop 13! The new screen sounds just mind bogling great! Too bad that I can't justify the new buy 😁 maybe you can just slip a new screen under my door accidentally?!

Jan Jansen

@frameworkcomputer I wonder how the support for the rounded corners is in Linux?
Do you plan on releasing a second frame version fitting for the corners?

Götz Hoffart

@frameworkcomputer @robey Is there an option for 5 GBit/s Ethernet modules?
