Gregory's Server@kaffiene there is a misunderstanding here. #mastodon is not a space, safe or otherwise. It’s a piece of software. But this piece of software allows you and your community to create a space that’s safe for you according to just about any criteria you care for. It not pre made … but that’s an opportunity, not a bug imho.

 @kaffiene then I’m baffled and if you were willing to explain, perhaps I can be unbaffled. @J12t As I recall the gist of it was that Mastodon made it easier for trolls to target minorities cf Twitter. And when people complained about it they were met with technocratic answers about how it was impossible for technical geek reasons and ignoring people's actual experiences. |
@J12t no misunderstanding. I'm perfectly aware of what Mastodon is.
Actually it was responses like this That were instrumental in a lot of the NZ Māori community moving on
