@J12t I truly miss the way Twitter 1.0 helped activists organize and get visibility for their causes.

Every time I mention the Fediverse / Mastodon to my old friends that used to organize on there, they immediately ask “what’s that?”

Apparently some that tried to use Mastodon were turned off by the signup process. The network effect (lack of our community on here) was another problem for adoption.

I want to make it my mission to get them on here - and encourage their friends to join too

@J12t I was thinking of doing this:
(1) creating a simple step-by-step guide on my website (or custom URL), explaining what the Fediverse is, how to join + highlighting advantages over other platforms
(2) approaching interesting women / POC who are active on Mastodon and asking them if I can add them to a public Notion board of “people of Note” on the Fediverse -> making it easy to instantly find people to follow
(3) approaching 5 friends who are activists and offering a tutorial of how to join
