@jelly my favorite fun fact to pull out at parties is that the red/blue system only exists because some CBS news producer had to pick colors in the 80s and liked the alliteration of “republican red”. and it just stuck. …i’m not invited to many parties.  btw I can't for the life of me remember which is which, so I just call them "liberal" and "Единая Россия" |
@samhenrigold slightly tangential, but in australia our conservative party is “the liberals” and their colour is blue, while the other side is “labor” whose colour is red
