@jesusmargar Star Wars is more Lord Of The Rings set in space than Dune, it’s more fantasy.
The Sarlaac pit does look remarkably like a Worm’s mouth though, I’ll give you that.
And “Kessell run”.

@jesusmargar yep. Lucas pinched ideas from a lot of places. Sooner watch Star Wars than Dune but it isn’t like you have to choose just one. @philheppenstall @jesusmargar So, you're saying just watch Star Wars and save yourself a whole lot of time (and money). @smurthys @jesusmargar see the thing is the prophesied saviour is the Prequel Trilogy and I’d sooner watch Dune than that. @jesusmargar @philheppenstall It was indeed, this screenshot is from a musk ‘tweet’ quoting a Quora post (with zero acknowledgement of the source, to boot) https://www.quora.com/Is-Dune-just-a-cheap-ripoff-of-Star-Wars/answer/Franklin-Veaux?ch=17&oid=1477743749195978&share=e359a30a&srid=3TzPq&target_type=answer |
@philheppenstall worm included. In fact, I think there's another one or two in the mandalorian. Not sure if it's the same animal as in The Return of the Jedi.
