While I don't want to underestimate the potential for doing the wrong thing, they are making legitimate efforts to keep the collected data anonymised that go beyond "trust us". Came to echo this. I tend to give Mozilla some credit. Mozilla's whole reason for existing at this point is that it is a privacy focused alternative to FANG company offerings like Chrome. It would be very foolish of them to do anything creepy with your data. As soon as anyone found out, they would see a loss of their already dwindling pool of users.
