it might turn out to be totally unusable, but we'd like to play with it

@ireneista I dunno about the minimap but I'm sure no-titlebars-ever is an option in i3 somewhere

Both #i3wm and #sway let you turn titlebars on and off, also borders on, off, and varying thickness.

The only time titlebars are enforced is when you're using tabbing (so the tab is basically the titlebar), and of course, the stupid practice of Client-Side-Decorations, where you're getting a titlebar if you want one or not, because we're a cult and we know better than you, the lowly user. :eyeroll:

I sometimes use this to identify windows: codeberg.org/rldane/scripts/sr

@RL_Dane@fosstodon.org @ireneista@irenes.space @PetraOleum@cloudisland.nz I've been using no title bars in bspwm and more recently river. It's fine, title bars aren't necessary

@paul @RL_Dane @ireneista @PetraOleum Yeah, it's basically just noise anyway, it's there for no reason at all really.

@paul @RL_Dane @ireneista @PetraOleum Yeah, it's kind of weird to have everything tell you what they are, I don't have postits on everything telling me what they are either, postits on my monitors saying "monitor" on my mouse saying "mouse" etc :p
